Unlike many typical warblers, the sexes are almost identical. This is a small <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Species" style="background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration-line: none;" title="Species">species</a> with a grey back, whitish underparts, a grey head with a darker "bandit mask" through the eyes and a white throat. It is slightly smaller than the <a class="mw-redirect" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitethroat" style="background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration-line: none;" title="Whitethroat">whitethroat</a>, and lacks the chestnut wings and uniform head-face color of that species. The lesser whitethroat's song is a fast and rattling sequence of <i>tet</i> or <i>che</i> calls, quite different from the whitethroat's scolding song.</div>

cultivated crops tall enough to offer shelter and open beneath to
provide escape routes and easy travel. They prefer the areas of thick
vegetation, usually near water. They are not forest birds but will
frequent brush land and wood edges associated with grass land. They
appear to be more closely associated to water than chukars are, and in
drier areas.<img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzHztZV8-DbeFbZQZgS_R02OYrCLw7HyUmdAxJ8T_s3LYj1fJJLWmqQKRc8kIXtoQqsAINMFL4S-p2EprIsVGVbmVhPkUOPz8bOM4AfetazEM-Pwmq5-zshOs3HtRjn37Am0MrNxWdZMAR/s320/IMG_2246.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Francolins normally nests in a bare ground scrape from late March to
May. The male may be seen standing on a rock or low tree attracting
attention with its extraordinary creaking call. It may be heard all day
long in April, during nesting, and less persistently in March and May as
well as the summer months. Both parents tend chicks after hatching.
Young stay with parents through their first winter. The most likely
breeding locations Savanna, Grasslands, Scrub vegetation areas under the
cultivated crops. They have a loud call during the breeding season.<br />

It is
widely distributed; the Egyptian vulture is found from southwestern <a href="http://wiki.eanswers.com/en/Europe" title="Europe"><span style="color: #076de5; font-family: inherit , serif;">Europe</span></a> and
northern <a href="http://wiki.eanswers.com/en/Africa" title="Africa"><span style="color: #076de5; font-family: inherit , serif;">Africa</span></a> to <a href="http://wiki.eanswers.com/en/India" title="India"><span style="color: #076de5; font-family: inherit , serif;">India </span></a>.</span></span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; line-height: 14.8pt; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in; text-align: justify; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: "roboto slab" , serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">The
contrasting underwing pattern and wedge-shaped tail make it distinctive in
flight as it soars in thermals during the warmer parts of the day. Egyptian
vultures feed mainly on <a href="http://wiki.eanswers.com/en/Carrion" title="Carrion"><span style="color: #076de5; font-family: inherit , serif;">carrion</span></a> but are
opportunistic and will prey on small mammals, birds, and reptiles.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; line-height: 14.8pt; margin-bottom: 9.0pt; text-align: justify; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: "roboto slab" , serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">They also feed on the eggs
of other birds, breaking larger ones by tossing a large pebble onto them. The
use of tools is rare in birds and apart from the use of a pebble as a hammer,
Egyptian vultures also use twigs to roll up wool for use in their nest.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; line-height: 14.8pt; margin-bottom: 9.0pt; text-align: justify; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-family: "roboto slab" , serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">Egyptian vultures that
breed in the temperate regions migrate south in winter while tropical
populations are relatively sedentary. Populations of this species have declined
in the 20th century and some island populations are endangered by hunting,
accidental poisoning, and collision with power lines.=====<span style="color: blue;"> (reference wikipedia)</span></span><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #252525; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.4px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em;">
The <b>common pochard</b> (<i>Aythya ferina</i>) is a medium-sized <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diving_duck" style="background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;" title="Diving duck">diving duck</a>.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #252525; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.4px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em;">
The adult male has a long dark bill with a grey band, a red head and neck, a black breast, red eyes and a grey back. The adult female has a brown head and body and a narrower grey bill-band. The triangular head shape is distinctive. Pochards are superficially similar to the closely related <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_America" style="background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;" title="North America">North American</a> <a class="mw-redirect" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redhead_(duck)" style="background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;" title="Redhead (duck)">redhead</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canvasback" style="background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;" title="Canvasback">canvasback</a>.</div>

Females give hoarse growls. Males have whistles cut off by a final nasal note <i>aaoo-oo-haa</i>.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #252525; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22.4px; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em;">
Their breeding habitat consists of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marsh" style="background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;" title="Marsh">marshes</a> and lakes with a metre or more water depth. Pochards breed in much of temperate and northern <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe" style="background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;" title="Europe">Europe</a> into <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asia" style="background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;" title="Asia">Asia</a>. They are <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bird_migration" style="background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;" title="Bird migration">migratory</a>, and spend winter in the southern and west of Europe.</div>

Crested Serpent Eagle is normally seen in Forest like Corbett, Betla and other wild sanctuaries. I never hoped to see it in Delhi . Yesterday I was surprised to see it sitting on a dry tree searching probably the snake.<br />
The spotted underbelly helps in identifying this predator.<br />

<span style="color: lime;">Greater Painted Snipe </span>( Male) = राज चहा=This bird can be seen near waterbodies,having marshes,vegetated pools and stream banks. Difficult to find out as it prefers to merge itself in marshes ,elephant grassand due to small size( 25 cm), color,wings pattern, slow movement U Have to wait silently for hours, However I was Lucky to see it in a seculeded water -body near Yamuna.<br />
I could not spot any Female Greater Snipe which is more Colorful than the Male, Hope to see next time:<br />
